Regenerative & Holistic Practices at Harmony Oaks Farm

Harmony Oaks Equine is a gaited horse farm just outside of Ocala, FL. We raise, train and ride:

  • Icelandic Horses

  • Kentucky Mountain Horses

  • Spotted Mountian Horses

We manage horses through holistic care, natural movement and regenerative practices to improve the land. Our farm operates as a living system where soil, forage, animals, and environment work together. Regenerative practices are the foundation of how we raise and manage horses.

Track‑Based Movement System

  • Natural movement — Our track system encourages horses to walk, explore, and interact throughout the day.

  • Hoof health — Varied terrain supports stronger, healthier hooves without relying on confinement.

  • Herd dynamics — Horses live in social groups that support emotional stability and reduce stress behaviors.

Holistic Horse Care

  • Forage‑based nutrition — Horses are fed like horses: forage first, clean minerals, and simple supplements.

  • Low chemical load — Thoughtful deworming, minimal unnecessary medications, and clean feed practices.

  • Stress‑aware handling — Calm, consistent, relationship‑based training that respects biomechanics and mental well‑being.

Natural Parasite Controls

  • Ducks and chickens play an active role in parasite control, seed distribution, and soil aeration.

  • Fly Predators

  • Their presence supports a healthier pasture ecosystem and reduces reliance on chemical interventions

Regenerative Land Management

  • Soil‑first philosophy — We prioritize soil structure, organic matter, and microbial life to support long‑term pasture health.

  • Rotational grazing — Horses move through different areas to prevent overgrazing, reduce parasite load, and encourage diverse plant growth.

  • Native plant preservation — We protect and encourage native species that support pollinators, wildlife, and resilient forage.
